About Tim

Hi, I'm Tim Louis, your Member of Parliament for Kitchener-Conestoga since 2019. I'm a husband, father, and passionate community leader with a long history of service. Before entering politics, I spent years as a professional musician and recording artist, where I learned the importance of leadership and dedication.

For the past 25 years, my family and I have called the Forest Heights area of Kitchener home. My wife and I are raising our two wonderful children here, and we love fostering rescued dogs. Our home is often filled with the chaos and love that comes with having four-legged visitors.

As an award-winning songwriter and musician, I've had the privilege of recording four solo albums and performing across Canada and around the world.

For seven years, I hosted Jazz Sessions, a weekly radio show on a community station, sharing my love for music. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the values that make us proud to be Canadian.

My music career allowed me to meet people from all walks of life and connect with them during significant moments in their lives. This unique perspective helps me understand the issues that matter most to our community.

Kitchener-Conestoga is a vibrant and diverse community, and I'm honoured to represent our interests in Ottawa. I know firsthand the challenges middle-class families face and the unique needs of our riding.

From our connections to the manufacturing, arts, and tech sectors to our strong agricultural ties, I understand the importance of infrastructure, jobs, and services for our growing population.

Protecting our farmland, promoting sustainability, and supporting local food initiatives are also top priorities. Many of us are balancing care for our parents, saving for retirement, and ensuring a bright future for our children.

In Ottawa, I proudly serve on the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food, the Standing Joint Committee for the Scrutiny of Regulations, and the Special Committee on the Canada–People’s Republic of China Relationship. I'm also a member of several caucuses and numerous Inter-Parliamentary and Friendship Groups. As Chair of the Southwest Region Liberal Caucus, I'm committed to advocating for our community's needs and working towards a better future for all of us.

My constituency office is here to support you with any federal concerns or issues you may have. Whether you need help navigating government services or have questions about local initiatives, we're always here to lend a hand and ensure your voice is heard.

It’s a privilege to represent you. As always, thank you for trusting me to bring your perspectives to Ottawa.
