Celebrating Local Fall Fairs in the House

Fall fairs bring rural and urban communities together in the best ways.

This week, it was a privilege to recognize the Wellesley Fall Fair, New Hamburg Fall Fair, and the upcoming Wellesley Apple Butter and Cheese Festival in the House of Commons.

Transcript:

Madam speaker, it's Fall Fair season in Kitchener-Conestoga.

Our community always looks forward to the Wellesley Fall Fair, the new Hamburg Fall Fair and the upcoming Wellesley Apple Butter and Cheese Festival. These fairs bring us a sense of nostalgia, connecting us with our roots and the values of hard work and community that have defined Canadians for generations.

Fairs help build connections between urban and rural communities, bridging the gap between farm and city. By showcasing the hard work and dedication of our farmers, they raise awareness about the importance of agriculture and inspire the next generation of farmers.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the volunteers, boards, sponsors, and agricultural societies for your dedication and your support.

Your efforts make these events possible and bring smiles to community members of all ages. I'll be joining friends and flipping pancakes at the Wellesley Apple Butter and Cheese Festival on Saturday, September 28. I hope to see you there.

Thank you, Madam Speaker.
